The Border Battle is back–Fort Frances High School Muskies and International Falls Broncos are facing off. Boys teams will play Tomorrow night Dec. 17 at IFK at 7:15 p.m. Support the Muskies!

Food For Fines– Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre – December 5th to 31st Make a non-perishable food donation in support of local food banks and your late fines will be forgiven!

55+ Movie Matinee– A free afternoon showing of a Christmas favourite, “Love Actually” for ages 55+. Rated PG-13; 2 hr 15 min. Friday, Dec. 16 1 p.m.

Hockey game and fundraiser– Dec. 17: Prior to a game between the Int’l Falls PeeWee B team and the Times Tigers. Bake Sale from 3:00p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ice For Kids along with accepting non-perishable goods. All proceeds and goods will be donated to The Salvation Army. Game starts 4:15 p.m.

Family movie night at the Library–Mon. December 19th, at the Fort Frances Public Library for a Christmas Classic- The Santa Clause (PG) This family event will take in the Shaw Room at 5:45pm. Make your own “I Believe Button”, enjoy popcorn & snacks, and play “Pass the Present Game” for the chance to win a PRIZE! Families welcome, please keep in mind movie is rated PG (suggested age 7+). Christmas Story Time for All Ages– Taking place, Thurs. December 22nd, at the Fort Frances Public Library. This special Story Time is open to all ages. Free Community Christmas Dinner– A traditional holiday available to anyone and everyone. Sit-down meal at Knox United Church Dec. 25, 3-5 p.m. Pick up and delivery from Flint House 3-4 p.m. All meals MUST BE pre-ordered by Dec. 22. Volunteers needed. Christmas lights Scavenger Hunt– Pick up a list at the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre or on their Facebook page. Contest is open until Dec. 31. Prizes will be awarded.

New Year’s Eve Sobriety Social– At Rainy River First Nation Gym. 5-8 p.m. for kids, 8 p.m.-1a.m. for adults. Penny table, games, dancing.

Voyageur Lions Club Polar Plunge– Due to too much ice, the chilly dash and splash was cancelled and a Polar Plunge will take its place on Jan. 1. Contact the Lions Club for more information.

The Rainycrest Tuck Shop is accepting donations– with Christmas approaching. The Tuck Shop is open to residents, family, staff and visitors. We could use large stuffed bears, men’s and ladies’ slippers, socks, hats, personal care items and items for residents to place on their night stands or wall/ door décor as well as gift items and knick knacks. Donations can be dropped inside the main entrance labelled ATTN: Gary Tuck Shop.
