Salvation Army’s Adopt a family– The holidays are just around the corner and the Salvation Army is seeking businesses and individuals willing to adopt a family in need. In this rewarding program, you adopt a family,and make their Christmas morning magical. Contact the Salvation Army to find out how you can take part.

55+ Movie Matinee– A free afternoon showing of a Christmas favourite, “Love Actually” for ages 55+. Rated PG-13; 2 hr 15 min.

Christmas lights Scavenger Hunt– Pick up a list at the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre or on their Facebook page. Contest is open until Dec. 31. Prizes will be awarded.

Rainycrest resident’s Christmas Concert–Dec. 6 1:30. Directed by Diane Maxey. Family members and friends of residents are welcome to attend. Come early to get a COVID test and wear a mask. Refreshments to follow

Fort Frances Choraliers Christmas Concert–Under the direction of Diane Maxey the Choraliers will be performing a variety of Christmas selections at New Beginnings Church. Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. Freewill offering. Refreshments to follow. Note the time change from previous years

Hockey game and fundraiser– Dec. 17: Prior to a game between the Int’l Falls PeeWee B team and the Times Tigers. Bake Sale from 3:00p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ice For Kids along with accepting non-perishable goods. All proceeds and goods will be donated to The Salvation Army. Game starts 4:15 p.m.

Voyageur Lions Club Polar Plunge– Due to too much ice, the chilly dash and splash was cancelled and a Polar Plunge will take its place on Jan. 1. Contact the Lions Club for more information.

Fort Frances Girls And Women’s Hockey Association radio BINGO–Mondays 7 p.m. on 93.1 The Border radio station. BINGO cards available at various locations throughout the district including CC Complex, Ski’s Variety, The Place Fine Foods, Cloverleaf.

The Rainycrest Tuck Shop is accepting donations– with Christmas approaching. The Tuck Shop is open to residents, family, staff and visitors. We could use large stuffed bears, men’s and ladies’ slippers, socks, hats, personal care items and items for residents to place on their night stands or wall/door décor as well as gift items and knick knacks. Donations can be dropped inside the main entrance labelled ATTN: Gary Tuck Shop.
