Senior Muskie Girls
The Senior girls looked in control early but stumbled on their way to a five-set win over home-town Dryden. The girls overcame injuries to key players and fought back to win set five after going down early. The set scores were 25-21, 25-19, 19-25, 18, 25 and 15-13 The AA senior girls will host NWOSSA this Friday and Saturday, in best of three series against The Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute from Thunder Bay.
Rainy River Owls
With a win over the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints from Kenora, the Rainy River Owls won the NorWOSSA Senior ‘A’ girls’ volleyball championship. This week the Owls will host NWOSSA ‘A’ volleyball championships where they will face teams from Marathon High School and L’École secondaire catholique de La Vérendrye from Thunder Bay in a tournament. The winning team will represent Northwestern Ontario at the girls ‘A’ volleyball OFSAA championship in Welland from March 6-8.
Junior Muskie Girls
The junior girls volleyball team from Fort Frances High School was victorious in the NorWOSSA AA finals last Friday in Dryden. After a rocky start dropping the first set, the junior girls took control and won the next three to beat the Sioux North Warriors. The set scores were
23-25, 25-8, 25-10, 25-15.
