Duane Hicks Dr. Jeff Denis, associate professor of sociology at McMaster University in Hamilton, presented his Ph.D. dissertation, “Canadian Apartheid: Boundaries and Bridges in Aboriginal-White Relations,” last night at the Métis Hall here. The event was well-attended by about 60 people, of both aboriginal and non-aboriginal descent.

Heather Latter Fort Frances Museum curator Sherry George set up a display for a new exhibit there called “Miijim, Traditional Foods of the Lake of the Woods Anishinaabeg.” The exhibit, which will be of great cultural value to the community, opened today (friday) and runs until the end of October.
