From the OPP
On Nov. 1 around 11:30 a.m., Dryden OPP officers were executing a warrant at a residence on Henderson Road, north of Dryden.
A male barricaded himself inside the home with a weapon.
The OPP began an integrated police response, including the Tactical and Rescue Unit, Northwest Emergency Response Team, an OPP K-9 Unit, and members of the Northwest Region Crisis Negotiating Team, Provincial Liaison Team, Incident Commanders, and the Northwest Region Crime Unit.
The incident came to a conclusion at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 2 when the man was arrested by police.
A 38-year-old Dryden man was charged with uttering threats to cause death, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, failure to comply with a recognizance, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He was being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
