The Muskie football team showed no signs of rust in their first game of the WHSFL season.
Just a week after having to forfeit their opener against the host Churchill Bulldogs due to not having enough players showing up for practice, the black-and-gold were firing on all cylinders Friday afternoon in a 42-0 rout of the host Tec Voc Hornets (0-1).
Quarterback Brady Meeks threw for 188 yards and four touchdowns to propel the Muskies (1-1).
He also had 15 yards on two carries while punching in another two scores.
Cam Bowles racked up 128 yards on 15 carries while Brady Bodnarchuk had four catches for 93 yards.
Ayden Gushulak mustered 18 yards on two catches while scoring two touchdowns, with Riley Argue adding 61 yards on three catches along with two scores.
Carson Noga went six-for-six on extra points
The Muskies’ offensive line also was huge in Friday’s romp, not allowing a single sack.
On defence, Brett Allan led the way with five tackles while Colten Allen had five tackles and recorded a sack.
Wyatt Richards had three tackles and a sack, with Kayden Kocuiba recorded two tackles and a sack.
Bowles also had an interception for Fort High.
The Muskies will look to make it two wins in a row this Friday when they host the undefeated Elmwood Giants (2-0) in their home-opener at 4 p.m.
