Captain Annalise (C.C.) Hayes notched four goals to lead the Muskie girls’ hockey team to a narrow 5-4 win over the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints last night in Kenora.
Hayes opened the scoring at 10:54 of the first period, with Jillian Calder and Taylor Croswell drawing the assists.
Chelsea Henderson drew the Saints even at 9:46.
Nat Reynard then gave the home side a 2-1 lead with 6:52 left in the opening frame.
Hayes netted her second of the game just 1:23 into the second period to knot it at 2-2.
Henderson then buried one at 11:07 to give the Saints the lead once more.
Avery Cates made it all square again before Hayes scored twice more to put Fort High ahead 5-3.
The Saints did get one back with 1:37 to go in the game but it was too little, too late.
Kamryn Sandelovich earned the win between the pipes.
The Muskies (13-1-1) will conclude regular-season play with a make-up game today against the host Sioux Lookout Warriors for the one that was postponed on Sunday.
