Premier Kathleen Wynne visited the area in August to join up with the dozen youths taking part in the 2017 Métis Nation of Ontario Canoe Expedition. Here she looked over some traditional Métis items during a meet-and-greet upstairs at La Place Rendez-Vous before heading out the next day to participate in the final leg of the journey, which began in Ottawa and ended in Kenora.
