It was a tough day for the four Muskie court teams yesterday in Dryden.
Only the junior boys’ basketball team came home victorious–earning a 61-42 win over the Eagles to improve to 3-1 in NorWOSSA play.
The Muskie senior boys fell 82-64 to drop to 2-2 on the season.
In girls’ volleyball action, meanwhile, the senior Muskies let one slip through the fingers.
The squad jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five match with set wins of 26-24 and 25-19.
But it was all Dryden after that as the Eagles took the last three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-15, and 15-13 to steal the victory.
With the loss, the seniors fell to 2-2 in league play.
And the junior Muskies suffered their first NorWOSSA regular-season loss after also falling to the Eagles in five sets.
Dryden took the first set 26-24 before Fort High bounced back with a 25-11 win.
After the Eagles prevailed 25-20 in the third set, the Muskies evened the match with a 25-19 win.
Dryden then won the fifth-and-deciding match by a 15-10 score.
The juniors now sit with a 3-1 league record.
All four teams will resume NorWOSSA play after the Christmas break, with both volleyball squads then heading to a tournament in Kenora on Jan. 12-13.
