The Waabishkiibinesii Singers, including Kaayla Fox, left, Gail DeVall, Carla Smith, Giselle Struch, Linda Guimond, and LaVanna Fox (not seen), performed a healing song during the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women candlelight vigil at Knox United Church here yesterday evening. The vigil, which also featured songs by flutist Kyle Councillor, honoured the 14 women killed 28 years ago in what has become known as the “Montreal Massacre,” as well as local women who have lost their lives at the hands of gender violence.
