From the OPP
Members of the Kenora OPP, with the assistance of Technical Traffic Collision Investigators and the OPP’s Highway Safety Division, continue to investigate a fatal motor-vehicle collision that occurred Sunday afternoon on Highway 17.
Just before 3:30 p.m., the Kenora OPP was notified of a collision at Lindsay Road, west of Kenora.
It was determined an eastbound sports utility vehicle collided with a westbound tractor-trailer unit in the westbound lane.
The female driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene while the truck driver was uninjured.
The victim has been identified as 73-year-old Mary Kozak of Kenora.
The highway was closed for several hours during the investigation.
