Evelyn Metke shared a few words after being honoured as the 2017 “Citizen of the Year” during last night’s council meeting. In front of family and friends, the 93-year-old active volunteer was given a plaque and bouquet for her lifelong track record of community service, ranging from “Meals on Wheels” to many service clubs, auxiliaries, and groups.
