Sophie Ballan carried a wreath to place at the foot of the cenotaph in memory of her late husband, Pete Ballan Sr., during the Remembrance Day ceremony here. He had joined the Royal Canadian Navy at the age of 18, serving during WWII on convoy duty in the North Atlantic.
