The Muskie Midget women’s team finished in ninth place overall out of 34 teams competing at the OFSAA cross-country championships held Saturday in Petawawa.
Greta Fedoruk led the way by taking 73rd-place overall individually out of 257 entrants–completing the four-km course in a time of 16:39.1.
Ashlyn Beck wound up in 101st place (16:59.6), followed by Grace Kowal (17:03.0) and Jaida Norris (17:03.7) in 107th and 108th, respectively.
Their combined finishes gave the team a total score of 389.
Glebe (NC) captured first place in the division with a combined score of 168, followed by Leaside (TS) in second at 232 and Winston Churchill (SO) in third at 297.
Meanwhile, the Muskies came in 33rd place out of 36 teams competing in the Junior women’s division.
Tori Toriseva was 168th overall out of 257 entrants with a time of 26:46.3 over the five-km distance.
Kamryn Sandelovich wound up 177th (27:00.0), with Alacea Yerxa in 241st (30:56.2) and Star Martin in 243rd (31:10.4).
Their combined finishes gave the team a total of 829.
Kingston CVI (EO) took top spot in the division with a combined score of 97, with Waterloo (CW) in second at 234 and Brooklin (LO) in third at 242.
The Muskies were the lone NWOSSAA representatives in their respective divisions.
Representing NWOSSAA in the Midget men’s division were St. Igantius and Hammarskjold of Thunder Bay, finishing in 11th and 36th place out of 37 teams with combined totals of 439 and 849, respectively.
Hammarskjold and Dryden represented NWOSSAA in the Junior men’s division, finishing seventh and 35th out of 36 teams, respectively, with combined totals of 361 and 924.
Hammarskjold and Churchill represented NWOSSAA in the Senior men’s division, finishing 26th and 31st out of 37 teams, respectively, with combined totals of 637 and 735.
And Dryden was the lone NWOSSAA rep in the Senior women’s division, finished 29th out of 36 teams with a 748 total.
The senior division races were six km in length.
