With snowfall on the way, the Rainy River District OPP is urging drivers to slow down to adjust to road and weather conditions.
It is recommended to increase stopping distances and adjust to slower speeds.
The public may call 5-1-1 or refer to the Ministry of Transportation’s website for road closures and up-to-date road conditions.
Do not call the OPP’s Communication Centre.
Check weather and road conditions often, and give yourself extra travel time.
Motorists also are reminded to show patience around snow removal crews.
Driving beside snow plows, or passing or crowding plows, puts drivers and snow plow operators at a risk of collision.
The best road conditions are behind snow plows.
