As part of a year-long line-up of events marking Ontario’s 150th anniversary and celebrating the province, the free “ONtour” concert series will provide the soundtrack for the Summer of ’17.
It is stopping in more than 20 communities across the province, including in Kenora on Aug. 10, to showcase some of Ontario’s brightest musical talent.
The concert, to be held at the Whitecap Pavilion, will partner with the Kenora Bass International.
ONtour Kenora will feature the James Barker Band, Crystal Shawanda, Midnight Shine, and Ginger Ale & The Monowhales.
All of the ONtour concerts are free and open to music-lovers of all ages, and no tickets are required.
“Music is magic-able to cross generational, cultural, and linguistic boundaries,” said Tourism, Culture and Sport minister Eleanor McMahon.
“ONtour is an opportunity for people from all walks of life to share in this communal experience, to build community pride, and to create cherished memories for years to come,” she added.
From Peterborough to Blind River, from Ajax to Kenora, from Hamilton to Sudbury, audiences will have the opportunity to attend a free concert featuring at least three acts.
More than 50 Ontario artists will be part of the ONtour concert series and roughly 80,000 people are expected to attend the free concerts across the province.
