Keith Macpherson and Renée Lamoureux will take to the stage on Thursday, July 13 for the first concert of the season at Cornell Farms in La Vallee.
They are a Canadian duo renowned for their dynamic live show, unforgettable harmonies, and tight musicality honed by years together on the road.
Swinging their guitars and powerful voices from Winnipeg to Nashville and Toronto, Macpherson and Lamoureux have performed with some of the best.
They have toured with Jann Arden, Blue Rodeo, Chad Brownlee, and Dallas Smith.
They also have performed with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and for Queen Elizabeth II.
Kim Cornell is extremely pleased to have the pair at Cornell Farms.
“We heard them one morning on CBC Radio and knew that they would be perfect for [our] barn,” he noted.
“What they’ve delivered on their newest album is as good, if not better, than successful American acts such as Lady Antebellum, Gloriana, or Little Big Town,” wrote Bruce Leperre of the Winnipeg Free Press.

In 2012, they won a Western Canadian Music Award for “Country Recording of the Year.” Then in 2016, the received a WCMA nomination for best country album.
Their music has been used for an AT&T commercial and on TV shows such as “15 Love,” “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” “Radio Free Roscoe,” and many Hallmark movies.
Macpherson and Lamoureux also have spent two summers in Kenya with “Free The Children,” working to improve infrastructure in African communities and performing for villagers and volunteers.
This experience inspired their song, “The One,” which has earned them a place on David Susuki’s prestigious “Playlist for the Planet” CD compilation.
They also have performed at the Canadian Country Music Awards Songwriting Café in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
Opening for the pair will be Orville Councillor from Naicatchewenin First Nation.
Councillor has performed for 20 years but after his performance at the 2015 “Harmony of Nations” Music Festival in Fort Frances, he has taken his music more seriously.
His original songs are a mixture of contemporary and traditional expression.
Councillor has performed at the World Indian Higher Education Conference and the Minnesota Performing Arts Conference.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m., with tickets costing $15 in advance and $18 at the door.
They are available from the Fort Frances Public Library, Tompkins Hardware in Emo, and Cornell Farms.
