Callum McCormick was dealing smoke from the mound for the host Sturgeon Creek Sturgeons against the Crossroads Tornadoes in Grade 5 division play as part of the Rainy River District west-end softball showcase yesterday at Sturgeon Creek School. Teams in Grades 4, 5 and 6 faced either other for three games apiece on a blustery day, with the Grade 7 and 8 tournament also set for Sturgeon Creek next Thursday (May 25).
