Death being probed

The OPP has been requested to assist the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation Police Service in relation to an occurrence on the Sandy Lake First Nation.
At around 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service responded to a call regarding a male in need of assistance outside a residence on River Road.
Police responded and located a male in the ditch.
He was transported by police to the Sandy Lake Nursing Station, where he subsequently was pronounced dead.
The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old Wilfred Fiddler from Sandy Lake First Nation.
A post-mortem examination was scheduled to take place today in Kenora.
A 24-year-old male from Sandy Lake First Nation has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
He was being held in custody pending a bail hearing today in Kenora.
