Book-lovers looking to stock up on reading materials don’t have to look any further than the annual charity book sale set to take place next week (April 5-8) at Revco Carpet here.
But a book sale needs books–and the public right now is welcome to drop by 950 Fifth St. W. to donate good-quality ones.
“People are encouraged to drop off books until as late as Thursday,” Revco owner Dave Petsnick told the Times.
“We have a couple of pallets of books that have been dropped off so far,” he noted.
The popular sale then will take place during store hours (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) next Wednesday through Friday, and again on Saturday, April 8 from 9 a.m.-noon.
The public can drop by the store, fill a bag with books, and then make a donation.
Like last year, Petsnick said proceeds from the book sale will help support the Borderland Judo Club.
Judo club members have volunteered to run the book sale again this year, and they will make a donation to the local Alzheimer Society.
Revco Carpet has been the site for the charity book sale since 2005.
Originally, it was held solely in support of the local Alzheimer’s Society. But in recent years, other local groups, such as the judo club, have gotten a boost.
“Ange and I have been hosting the charity book sale for years because it gets a lot of support from the community,” said Petsnick.
“People really look forward to the event every year.
“As long as people continue to come out in support, we will continue to host the event,” he added.
“It is a great way to promote and support local clubs here in town.”
