While reports of asylum-seekers crossing the Canada-U.S. border in Manitoba continue to make headlines, it seems this area is not nearly as busy.
Canada Border Services Agency’s Northern Ontario Region office told the Times yesterday that one refugee claim made at the Fort Frances port of entry in February.
However, the person was found ineligible to make a refugee claim and returned to the United States.
The CBSA would not reveal the exact date of the claim nor the individual’s initial country of origin.
