The Backus Community Center in International Falls is pleased to welcome back Randy Noojin performing an encore performance of “Hard Travelin’ with Woody.”
This one-man multimedia play showcasing the music and artworks of Woody Guthrie, written and performed by actor/playwright Noojin, will make its way back to the Backus stage this Saturday (March 4) at 7 p.m.
Noojin’s show focuses on folk singer and activist Woody Guthrie, who is playing for a union meeting of striking mine workers in 1940.
The show is packed with Guthrie’s wit, humour, and more than a dozen of his greatest songs.
Woodrow Wilson “Woody” Guthrie, best known as an American singer-songwriter and folk musician, is famous for the song, “This Land Is Your Land.”
Other songs include “Worried Man Blues,” “House of the Rising Sun,” “1913 Massacre,” and “Ship in the Sky.”
“Hop a box car through the ‘Dustbowl’ with Woody Guthrie and commune with the spirit, stories, and songs of America’s iconic folksinger, saint-of-the-workingman, and poet-of-the-people in this critically-acclaimed, award-winning multimedia solo show packed with Woody’s spirit, music, and artworks.”
Tickets for the show cost $12 for adults, $6 for students, and $25 for families.
