‘Kindness’ challenge issued

In honour of Random Acts of Kindness Week (Feb. 12-18), Community Living Fort Frances and Good Impressions are challenging all business/service providers to complete their own “random acts of kindness.”
Participants can send a brief description, along with photos, to Community Living Fort Frances at 340 Scott St.
Submissions also may be sent via e-mail to hjarvis@clfortfrances.com
The deadline for submissions is noon on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
The winners of the challenge then will be announced on the Community Living Fort Frances and District’s Facebook page at 3 p.m. that day.
Random acts of kindness could include:
•writing a “cheers” about a local business/organization;
•donating blood;
•volunteering at a hospital, homeless shelter, nursing home, getting out and helping others, etc.;
•inspiring others online;
•spreading good news;
•giving words of encouragement to others about their dreams;
•helping someone get active;
•making a difference in the life of a child;
•creating a care package and sending it to someone in need;
•baking cookies or brownies to share with neighbours or colleagues;
•cleaning up litter in a local park or open space;
•sending a nice e-mail or handwritten letter to someone you know;
•leaving encouraging post-it notes in library books and other random places;
•setting up a food donation box at your school, work, or place of worship;
•joining efforts to preserve and protect the environment; or
•taking the time to teach someone a skill you know.
