KENORA, Ont.–The Ontario Provincial Police says one of its officers has been charged with three criminal offences after an investigation that began this week.
Police said the alleged offences occurred Jan. 18 when the officer was off-duty.
They noted their investigation began Monday.
Cst. Steve Tetreault, a 28-year member of the OPP currently assigned to the Kenora detachment, was arrested Tuesday.
He is charged with aggravated assault, uttering threats, and breach of recognizance.
The accused, who currently is on leave, was held in custody pending a bail hearing yesterday in Kenora.
The investigation is ongoing.
