Illness sidelines diver

There’s been little to stop Molly Carlson from making waves in her freshman season with the Florida State Seminoles’ women’s diving team.
Some tainted southern cuisine did the trick.
The Fort Frances native was forced into a cheerleading role after being unable to compete at a dual meet against the host Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa because of a bout of food poisoning.
Carlson made the trip with her team but shortly after arriving, she fell ill and had to withdraw from the women’s 3m competition.
Fellow Seminole Ayla Bonniwell won the event but Florida State fell 170-130 to Alabama in the women’s division and 182-111 in the men’s division.
Carlson said Monday she was feeling better, and expected to rejoin her teammates in competition in Atlanta on Saturday in a dual meet against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
