Dear editor:
The “jeer” against Halal meat in last week’s “Cheers and Jeers” borders onto hate speech.
It was an outrageous insult to the Islamic community to print those words. The author and the editor have offended a small but growing group of our community.
Plus, the offensive words linger forever in the ethereal realm of the Internet. Always there to offend and deter good, hard-working folk that could include doctors, engineers, dentists, and many others from moving to Fort Frances.
A retraction and apology from the editor and author are needed.
