Seven games off was more than enough rest for Cole Tymkin.
The Fort Frances resident got an assist in his first game back for the London Knights in a 5-3 win over the Guelph Storm in OHL action Saturday.
Tymkin had received a six-game suspension for getting a major and a game misconduct for a check to the head he delivered against the Kingston Frontenacs back on Nov. 11.
He was eligible to return last Friday against the Barrie Colts but was held out of the lineup for unknown reasons.
Last year’s SIJHL rookie of the year with the Fort Frances Lakers now has two goals and three assists in 17 games with the Knights this season.

Hunter Leishman isn’t the only Fort Frances native playing for the Campbellton Tigers of the Maritime Hockey League.
Forward David Pryde also has been seeing regular action, although the former Muskie and Laker has had trouble getting going offensively this season with just one goal in 19 games.
Neither Pryde nor Leishman registered a point in Saturday’s 5-3 victory over the Woodstock Slammers.

Colton Bodnar had his best offensive weekend of the season so far for the Kenora Thistles in the Manitoba ‘AAA’ Midget Hockey League.
The Fort-based defenceman notched a pair of helpers in a 5-3 triumph over the Southwest Cougars on Friday.
Two other former Muskies from last year’s OFSAA-winning team also hooked up in that game when Jake Clendenning set up Sully Shortreed for his third goal of the season.
Bodnar then added an assist in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Yellowhead Chiefs on Sunday.
Ian Tookenay of here had one assist in a 5-2 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings on Saturday, then scored in regulation time against the Chiefs.

Ryan Faragher won’t be booking himself an Alaska cruise anytime soon.
The Fort Frances native was on the losing end three-straight nights as his Utah Grizzlies visited the Alaska Aces in ECHL competition over the weekend.
Faragher had 20 saves in a 5-1 loss on Friday, then 18 stops in Saturday’s 2-0 setback.
On Sunday, Faragher made another 20 saves in a 5-3 loss.
Faragher is now 6-6-0-1 on the season, with a 2.81 GAA and .899 save percentage.

Joe Basaraba, meanwhile, gets better and better each week.
The Fort native now has a four-game point streak, and has at least one point in six of his last seven games, for the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads.
Basaraba had one assist in a 3-2 win over the Allen (Tex.) Americans on Friday, then netted his fourth goal of the season in Saturday’s 4-1 victory.
Then he added two assists Wednesday night but it wasn’t enough for the Steelheads, who fell 5-3 to the Aces.
Basaraba now has 14 points in 19 games this season.
