Fort High teacher Robert Guertin helped students from Tracy Tucker’s Early Years class at J.W. Walker assemble one of the two “buddy benches” made by the manufacturing class. The youngsters were excited to take a turn using the tools to put together the benches that will be installed on their playground. The school already has “buddy benches” on its Grade 1-6 playground, which aim to eliminate loneliness and foster friendships by helping to identify students who want to be included.
