Custodian Edith Quinn will be recognized by the Northwest Catholic District School Board tonight for her exemplary dedication and commitment to Our Lady of the Way School in Stratton.
“Along with keeping the school looking beautifully-maintained, she can always be depended on to set up, participate, and break down school events,” acting vice-principal Colette Fafard noted in a report to the board.
“Edith has gone out of her way to establish a relationship with each of the students in our school and when she arrives in the afternoon, there is always a chorus of hellos to greet her,” Fafard added.
“This is accompanied by big smiles and often high-fives or hugs, as well.”
Fafard also said Quinn has offered excellent ideas on how to promote the school and make it a better place for the entire school community.
“She is passionate about the success of our school and it shows every day,” she noted.
“We are lucky to have such a dedicated, hard-working member on our staff.”
Also at tonight’s regular monthly meeting, trustees will:
•hear a presentation on the summer learning program;
•receive information about charitable donations to the board;
•hear an update regarding the Our Lady of the Way School accommodation review;
•approve the Audit Committee 2015-16 annual report as presented;
•approve signing the Joint Use Agreement for the St. Francis Sports Fields, including Appendix A, Multi-Use Courts Terms and Conditions, as presented; and
•call for nominations for the Ontario School Boards’ Insurance Exchange (OSBIE) board of directors 2017 Northwest Region.
The meeting gets underway at 6:30 p.m. via teleconference at the Fort Frances board office (located next to St. Francis School).
It will be followed by an in-camera session.
