SYDNEY, N.S.—Two Cape Breton volunteer firefighters are facing multiple charges of arson after a series of blazes in rural areas near Sydney, N.S.
Cape Breton Regional Police said today they’ve charged 49-year-old Stephen Tremblett of North Sydney and 24-year-old James Clayton MacDonald of Bras d’Or in connection with 16 fires.
The fires occurred in structures, wooded areas, and vehicles throughout the Florence and Bras d’Or communities in recent months.
Tremblett was set to appear in court to face 12 charges of arson while MacDonald will face 16 charges.
