Local cafe given ‘hoot’

“Hoo” is one of one of the most recent recipients of a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence?
Ben Morelli of From the Grind Up here, that’s who.
TripAdvisor.ca, the traveller review site well-known for its “owl” logo, awards the honour to properties that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on its website.
The “certificate,” which actually is a green flag sporting the “owl” logo, is hanging in the window at the 122 Scott St. location.
Morelli said he was notified of the honour earlier this summer.
“I was definitely happy but I wasn’t surprised,” he told the Times this morning.
“I knew that the reviews had been really good consistently for a while now.
“TripAdvisor had notified me a couple months ago,” Morelli added.
“It just took a while for the flag to come in.”
Morelli said it’s an honour to be acknowledged by patrons.
“The nice thing about TripAdvisor is that it’s all customer-generated,” he remarked.
“Those are reviews directly from people that actually come to my establishment and use the services.
“It’s awesome to know that everything that the staff does here, and I’m doing here, is appreciated by them,” he added.
From the Grind Up currently has an average review score of 4.5 out of five on TripAdvisor.ca, based on 45 reviews.
