Rainy River District will have three teams in action at the 2016 North American Fastpitch Association World Series in North Mankato, Mn., which starts today.
The Northern Ontario Selects will take on Len’s Automotive at 2:30 p.m. in a first-round game in the ‘A’ winners’ bracket.
The Pinewood Expos, who had a first-round bye, will play tonight at 7:15 against the winner of the clash between the Taft Buzzards and St. Charles Tribe.
Meanwhile, a combined group of players from both local squads also will participate as the Northern Ontario Selects Juniors in Pool ‘A’ of the eight-team U23 division.
Their first game goes tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. against the NAFA Free Agents.
The tournament runs through Sunday.
