The Point Park beach is open again for swimming.
The beach was declared safe to swim at yesterday after the most recent set of water sample results came back “all clear,” the Northwestern Health Unit reported.
The beach first was declared off-limits July 29 as a result of routine water sampling.
It revealed high levels of E. coli bacteria, which can pose possible health risks to bathers, including a variety of skin, eye, nose, and throat infections, as well as gastrointestinal illness.
The water quality of local beaches is tested by the health unit from early June until the end of August.
