Formal dressing shouldn’t be a problem for the International Travel Services men’s team as they have a quickly-expanding selection of “ties” to choose from.
ITS had to settle for one point instead of three on consecutive evenings thanks to a 4-4 draw with Manitou Forest Products on Tuesday and then a 1-1 tie with Pharmasave last night in Borderland Soccer League men’s division action.
That makes it three-straight tie games for ITS (5-7-4), who missed a chance to catch Manitou (6-7-2) for second place.
ITS and Manitou still will clash in the league semi-finals.
Lucas Koomans had the lone goal for ITS last night.
Callum Bolen replied for last-place Pharmasave (5-9-2), which sits eight points back of ITS largely due to two forfeited games earlier this season.
In Tuesday’s shootout with Manitou, Tyler Hamm tallied twice to lead ITS offensively.
Max Williams added his team-leading sixth goal, with Zachary Koomans netting the other one.
Ahamadou Idrissou notched a pair to bump his team-high total to seven while Josh Nussbaumer and Nolan Short added singles.
In women’s action Tuesday night, the La Place Rendez-Vous U18 Voyageurs cruised to a 6-0 win over Taggs.
Despite being two players short to start the game, and at least one short for the whole contest, the first-place Voyageurs (14-2) ran roughshod over second-place Taggs (4-11) in stretching their winning streak to seven games.
Myla Angus led the way with a hat trick.
Abby Sanders added a pair of goals to boost her league-leading total to 23, with Maggie Jean notching the other one.
In games played Monday night, Connor and Aaron Bujold both tallied as the Voyageurs edged Pharmasave 2-1.
Cole Kowalski earned the win in his first appearance in goal since the regular-season opener.
Meanwhile, the female Voyageurs exploded for six second-half goals en route to a 7-2 victory over Al’s Racquet Stringing.
Sanders, Myla Angus, and Jenny Hammond all scored a pair of goals, with Jean netting the other one.
Sara Kellar notched both goals for Al’s (5-10).
Both divisions will wrap up the regular schedule tonight with a pair of 7 p.m. matchups.
Third-place Al’s can claim second place with a win over Taggs in women’s play.
On the men’s side, Manitou will try to continue its three-game unbeaten streak when they face the first-place Voyageurs (10-3-2).
