The Canada Day parade is all set to go tomorrow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Sorting Gap Marina.
“We have quite a few floats registered and people are still able to show up tomorrow,” noted Tara Allaire of the Rainy River Future Development Corp., which is organizing the event.
It once again will be led by a kiddies’ bike parade, sponsored by the local Legion, so youngsters are invited to decorate their bicycles and join in the fun.
Allaire said the parade lineup begins at 10:15 a.m., with judging taking place prior to the start.
“To celebrate Team Canada and the upcoming Summer Olympics in Rio, this year’s theme will be ‘An Olympic Celebration,’” she remarked.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three floats showcasing that theme.
The parade will travel west along Front Street, then head north on Armit Avenue before continuing west on Church Street.
It will end at the Royal Canadian Legion, and is expected to run 45 minutes to an hour.
“I think it’s going to be a really great parade this year so I hope everyone comes out to watch or participate,” Allaire enthused.
