Ian Jodoin celebrated his earlier accomplishment by doing what he does best.
The newly-crowned Muskie male athlete of the year netted his first goal of the season as the La Place Rendez-Vous U18 Voyageurs blanked International Travel Services 3-0 in Borderland Soccer League men’s division action last night.
Jodoin, who received his honour at an afternoon ceremony, was joined by fellow Muskie teammate Kevin Metke, who added a pair of markers to go along with the shutout goaltending of Gavin Richardson.
Tyler Hamm and Britt Green shared net duties for ITS (0-2).
The Vous next will play Pharmasave (0-2) on Monday at 7 p.m.
As for the women’s division, a spate of injuries forced Al’s Racquet Stringing to forfeit its game to Taggs.
With only nine players to start the game, Al’s (1-2) was further depleted within the first 10 minutes when Lisa Pavier and Jennie Dyck both tweaked leg injuries suffered earlier in the week.
Erin Gustafson then reinjured a leg muscle later in the half.
Although she switched to playing between the pipes, Gustafson was too hurt to continue following halftime.
That led to the forfeit, which will go into the record book as a 1-0 win for Taggs (1-2).
Al’s hopes to be back to full strength this Monday when they face the Vous (2-0) at 7 p.m.
