A brainstorming session on the long-term use and potential for Kiwanis Sunny Cove Camp will be held there this Wednesday (June 15) at 6:30 p.m.
The town’s Kiwanis Sunny Cove Advisory Committee is inviting the public “to come [and] give their input on what they would like to see the camp develop into,” said committee member Nicke Paddock.
She added the committee wants ideas to boost business and get more event bookings to fill the “shoulder seasons” (i.e., the times of the year when Sunny Cove isn’t hosting youth summer camps).
“It’s such an important piece of Rainy River District’s history, and has so much potential to generate revenues and tourism,” Paddock noted.
As per the town’s strategic plan, the committee has been directed to investigate the long-term use and potential of the camp for youth programming and economic development.
The committee will be on hand Wednesday.
Economic development officer Geoff Gillon, with the Rainy River Future Development Corp., will facilitate the meeting.
Beverages and snacks will be provided.
