All the pieces are in place. Now the Muskie girls’ and boys’ soccer teams just have to solve the puzzle.
The seedings and pools have been announced for the OFSAA ‘AA’ girls’ championship in North Bay and the ‘AA’ boys’ playoff in Kingsville, which both run June 2-4.
Fresh off capturing their third-straight NorWOSSA title, the Muskie girls are seeded second out of five teams in Pool ‘B’ of the 20-team tournament.
Also in Pool ‘B’ are the top-seeded Bishop Macdonell Celtics (Guelph), who won the provincial championship just two years ago in Collingwood, third-ranked Holy Trinity Tigers (Bradford West Gwillimbury), fourth-rated Saint Paul Catholic High School Patriots (Niagara Falls), and fifth-seeded Richview Saints (Etobicoke).
Fort High begins action Thursday at 10 a.m. (all times Central) against Holy Trinity, then faces Richview at 1 p.m.
The Muskies then will battle Bishop Macdonell at 7:30 a.m. on Friday before closing out pool play at noon against Saint Paul.
The top two teams from each of the four pools advance to the cross-over quarter-finals later Friday.
The semi-finals are set for Saturday morning, followed by the bronze-medal game at noon and the gold-medal final at 2 p.m.
The Muskies have yet to advance out of pool play in the program’s existence, going 0-4 at last year’s event in Wallaceburg.
As for the Muskie boys, they landed the No. 4 seed in Pool ‘C’ of their 20-team showdown after winning their sixth-straight NorWOSSA crown last week.
Pool ‘C’ also includes top-seeded St. Andre Bessette Bulldogs (London), second-ranked Ascension Eagles (Mississauga), third-ranked Glendale Bears (Hamilton), and fifth-seeded St. Michael Mustangs (Kemptville).
Fort High opens play Thursday at 11 a.m. against St. Andre Bessette, then tackles Glendale at 2 p.m.
Then they’ll face St. Michael at 8:30 a.m. of Friday before wrapping up pool play at 11:30 a.m. against Ascension.

The final is slated for 12:30 p.m.
Fort High had its best-ever showing at OFSAA last year, winning multiple games for the first time to finish with a 2-2 record.
