Katie Beninger is a big believer in bulk production.
Beninger racked up four goals to lead the Fine Foods Fury to an 8-4 victory over the Wright Physiotherapy Rockettes in Borderland Women’s Indoor Soccer League action last night at Fort High.
It’s been feast or famine lately for the third-place Fury (4-4), who scored eight goals two weeks ago, then were shut out last week.
But Beninger was on the mark last night in boosting her season goal total to 14.
That total stands second only to Maggie Jean’s league-best 16 for the Rockettes (6-2), who had their four-game winning streak snapped.
Bryanna Dustin and Abby Sanders each added a pair of goals for the Fury.
Mary Waghorn notched a hat trick in defeat for the Rockettes, who fell out of first place with the loss.
Jean tallied the other goal.
The other game last night never got underway.
The La Place Rendez-Vous Rage (6-1-1) moved into top spot in easy fashion with a forfeit win over the last-place Shear Serenity Strykers (1-6-1), who now have dropped three-straight.
League action won’t resume until March 23, with the Strykers facing the Fury at 7 p.m.
The Rockettes and Rage will follow at 8:15.
