After emptying the gas tank to win their first game, Team Red had no time to refuel before its second one.
The result was a convincing 111-73 victory for first-place Team Black in Fort Frances Men’s Basketball League action last night at Fort High.
Team Red (6-9) missed its first 10 shots yet only trailed by six points after the first three minutes.
But they couldn’t contain the high-powered attack of Team Black (13-1), led by Josh Mastin’s 36 points.
John Sivonen replied with 22 for Team Red, which had eked out a 67-66 victory over Team White earlier.
The two teams have been neck-and-neck all season, with their last four meetings all decided by two points or less.
Sivonen had 22 to pace Team Red in the opener while Jake McIntosh had a game-high 33 for last-place Team White (3-12).
Due to March Break, league action doesn’t resume until March 21.
