Whether you want to get active outdoors or stay inside and have fun, there’s a slew of Family Day activities in store locally on Monday.
The Memorial Sports Centre here will host a free family skate from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and a free family swim from 1:15-3 p.m.
A parent or guardian must accompany their children on the ice or in the water.
Only immediate family members are allowed, and there must be one adult for every two children.
The Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre also will be a busy place that day, including drop-in workshops to introduce families to 3-D printing from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.
Create a keychain or gamer tag.
The library also will host a “Family Fun Day” from 1-4 p.m. featuring all sorts of free games.
In Alberton, meanwhile, will hold its “Winter Fun Day” from 1-4 p.m. at the Millennium Park on Hill Road.
There will be skating, sliding, hot chocolate, roasted marshmallows, hotdogs, and more.
Further west, Emo will hold its Family Day event at the Emo-La Vallee Community Centre.
A pancake breakfast, organized by the Emo Legion, will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. upstairs at the arena.
Then from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., there will be a family photo scavenger hunt.
Pick up your scavenger hunt list upstairs at the arena and take your family around town snapping pictures.
Bring your digital pictures back to the arena by 12:30 p.m. to be entered into a grand prize draw.
The first 75 kids to return also will receive a treat bag sponsored by Emo Drugs.
A family photo booth also will be set up at the arena from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Bring your own camera.
As well, a free family public skate is slated from 10 a.m.-noon, followed by free shinny hockey from noon-1 p.m.
From 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., there will be family activities, crafts, and games for the whole family upstairs at the arena.
And from 1-2:45 p.m., the movie “Inside Out” will be shown there. Get free popcorn.
