It took 20 weeks but the best offensive producer in the SIJHL finally got his due.
Fort Frances Lakers’ forward Dylan Robertson yesterday was named the Amyotte’s Awards & Promotions performer-of-the-week after helping his team to a pair of weekend wins.
The 20-year-old native of Atlanta notched four points in the two games, but hadn’t won the weekly award yet despite leading the SIJHL scoring race for most of the season.
Meanwhile, the two wins helped the Lakers remain at No. 7 in the CJHL’s latest top 20 weekly rankings.
The Pentiction Vees (BCHL) took over top spot, moving up one to push the Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL) down to No. 2.
Rounding out the top five are the defending RBC Cup champion Portage Terriers (MJHL), the Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) and the Spruce Grove Saints (AJHL).
The Lakers are back in action Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Ice For Kids Arena against the Thunder Bay North Stars.
