The holiday break didn’t take any of the sharp edges off the best local female volleyballers right now.
How I Set Your Mother solidified its hold on first place in the Fort Frances Women’s Volleyball League last night by nabbing the maximum six points for the 10th time in 13 weeks as the circuit resumed after being off since Dec. 10.
The league leaders now have 75 points and stretched their lead to nine over second-place That’s What She Set, who settled for three points last night to sit at 66 overall.
Bump It Up, meanwhile, used its own six-point night to move into a third-place tie with No Diggity (58).
Fifth-place Gillons’ (52) needed all its six points to stay one up on sixth-ranked Scared Hitless (51), who racked up its own half-dozen points last night.
Let’s Talk About Sets sits in seventh place (40), followed by I’d Hit That (30) and We Could Carry Less (19), who were skunked last night.
So, too, were Wild Sets (17) and Rockstars (11), which are in 10th and 11th, respectively.
Sloppy Sets made strides to escape the cellar with its best night of the season with three points to sit with eight overall.
Action resumes next Thursday at 7 p.m. at Fort High and St. Michael’s.
