With the community Christmas dinner only a week away, everything is falling into place.
The 28th-annual event will take place Christmas Day from noon-2 p.m. at Knox United Church.
But while organizers have a team of volunteers on board for the event, more helpers always are welcome.
Sandra Lange of the Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau said she has about 20 volunteers lined up, but always can find something for more people to do.
Some tasks—such as decorating the church hall on Dec. 23 and cooking the meal—are accounted for.
Others task, such as setting up, serving food on Christmas Day, delivering “Meals on Wheels,” and cleaning up afterwards, could use more helping hands.

Lange also noted there hasn’t been very many requests yet for “Meals on Wheels.”
If you can’t make it to the church for the dinner, you can have a Christmas meal delivered to your residence.
But to do so, you must contact June Caul at 275-6624 prior to Dec. 22.
Meanwhile, plenty of food and cash donations have come in for the annual dinner, whether directly from local businesses or individuals, or through events like the sixth-annual “Stuff-a-Cruiser.”
“We got all our turkeys [from ‘Stuff-a-Cruiser’]. That helps a lot,” Lange said with a sigh of relief.
These acts of generosity will help put out a full meal of turkey, ham, potatoes, stuffing, vegetables, pickles, buns, and dessert on Christmas Day.
The community Christmas dinner is free and open to everybody—whether those who might not have family to share the holiday with or those who simply want to socialize with fellow citizens.
Thanks to recent renovations, Knox United Church is fully-accessible.
There also will be some live Christmas music courtesy of Diane Maxey and the Fort Frances Choraliers.
