Alyssa Chiasson represented the Rainy River District well during the Miss Teenage Canada pageant, finishing in the top 10 out of 82 contestants from across the country.
βIt was an amazing experience and I am sad to see it come to an end,β she wrote on Facebook after the crowning last night.
βThanks to everyone for your support and encouragement,β she added.
The 16-year-old from Fort Frances spent the past week in Toronto participating in the pageant and related activities.
There were rehearsals, workshops, and many outings, including taking part in dragon boat races, as well as visiting Bowmanville Zoo and Niagara Falls.
Chiasson also competed in the optional talent gala, doing a dance routine to Taylor Swiftβs βShake it Off.β
There was also a swimwear and evening wear portions in both the preliminary round and during last nightβs on stage pageant, which was streamed live online.
βYou represented yourself, your family, your town and your province beautifully Alyssa,β wrote one viewer.
The competition was won by Sarah Wojcik of Red Deer, Alberta.
