A man has been charged following an investigation into a snowmachine collision that claimed the lives of two Kenora men in March.
On Friday, March 27 shortly before 7:30 p.m., Kenora OPP received a report that two snowmachines were involved in a collision in the area of Hillock Creek, a remote area off Highway 71.
Police and the Tactical Emergency Medical Service attended the remote location by snowmachine and ATV.
Two men were pronounced dead while an injured male received medical treatment on scene.
He was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The deceased were identified as Larry Cameron, 57, and Curtis Ronning, 62.
As a result of this investigation, David Thorpe, 54, of Kenora was arrested on May 15.
He has been charged with two counts of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death and two counts of driving a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over 80 mg.
He was released to appear in court June 25 in Kenora.
