Jordan Larson and the Carleton Place Canadians (CCHL) topped Davis Ross and the host Portage Terriers (MJHL) 3-0 at the 2015 RBC Cup in Portage la Prairie, Man. yesterday.
The Canadians improved to 2-0 while the Terriers dropped to 1-1.
Larson, a former Fort Frances Lakers’ forward, was held pointless in the game, as was Ross from his blueline position for a second-straight game.
The Canadians opened play Saturday with a 4-0 shutout over the Dudley Hewitt Cup champion Soo Thunderbirds.
Larson played a big part in the win, netting two goals and an assist.
Meanwhile, the Terriers got off on the right foot Saturday with a 3-2 victory over the BCHL’s Penticton Vees (1-1).
Today’s only game pits a pair of 0-1 teams as the Soo faces the Melfort Mustangs (SJHL).
The final is set for Sunday.
