Rainy River District OPP officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle in the ditch near the intersection of McIrvine Road and Eighth Street here around 2:30 a.m. today.
After speaking with the driver, a 25-year-old Fort Frances man, it was determined he had been drinking.
He failed the roadside test and subsequently was arrested.
The driver was taken to Fort Frances detachment and subsequently charged with driving with a blood alcohol level over .08 mg following the results of breathalyzer tests.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for seven days.
The man will appear in court here July 6.
