Double wins for Vous

It was a good night to be a Voyageur.
Both the La Place Rendez-Vous Voyageurs U18 women’s and men’s squads registered wins in their respective Borderland Soccer League games last night.
Myla Angus and Abby Sanders each netted a pair of markers to lead the female Voyageurs to an 8-1 drubbing of Al’s Racquet Stringing.
Erin Tomalty, Taylor Croswell, Claire Hyatt, and Angel McCormack also scored for the first-place Vous (4-0).
Bryanna Dustin and Siobhan Mackintosh shared the shutout in goal.
Sara Kellar had the lone marker for Al’s (2-3), which now has dropped three-straight.
In men’s action, the Voyageurs (2-2) snapped a two-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over last-place Pharmasave (0-4-1).
Kevin Metke, Kirk Johnson, Aaron Kavanaugh, and Connor Bujold were the gboal scorers while Alex Gustafson earned the win between the pipes.
Jeremy Nussbaumer replied for Pharmasave.
In men’s division play Tuesday, Ahamadou Idrissou exploded for four goals to pace first-place Manitou Forest Products (3-0-1) to a 9-1 shellacking of Pharmasave.
Carter Chorney and Ben von Holtzendorf added two goals while James Pavier also scored after starting the game in net.
Kaleb Firth netted Pharmasave’s lone goal.
Meanwhile, International Travel Services (1-0-2) got into the win column with a 4-0 blanking of the Vous.
Nico Kooistra led ITS with a pair of goals while Brandon Sinclair and Cam Gobeil added singles.
Britt Green and Gavin Moorhouse teamed up to record the shutout.
Tonight’s lone game will see Manitou face ITS at 7 p.m.
