The Muskie boys’ hockey team has been seeded fourth out of the 16 teams competing at the OFSAA ‘AA’ championship next week in Pembroke/Petawawa.
Fort High, which captured its eighth-straight NorWOSSA crown Sunday, will play in Pool ‘D.’
The black-and-gold were rewarded not only for their 18-2 record in NorWOSSA play this season, but the fact they made the quarter-finals at last year’s OFSAA.
The Muskies will look to improve on that finish starting with a game against the host Fellowes Falcons (Pembroke), who are seeded 15th, on Tuesday at 9 a.m. (all times CDT).
Then it’s double duty for the locals on Wednesday, starting with a clash against the ninth-ranked St. Joseph’s Panthers (Cornwall) at 11 a.m.
The Muskie then will close out pool play at 4 p.m. versus the sixth-ranked St. Michael’s Mustangs (Niagara Falls).
The top two teams in each pool advance to the quarter-finals, which begin Thursday at 7 a.m.
Editor’s note: There was no word as of press time on the seeding for the Muskie girls’ team at OFSAA, which runs next week in Kenora.
